by Ed Martin In a certain-to-be-controversial story turn, Lana and Lex were married this week on Smallville. It was not a happy wedding day. After learning that he had superpowers and had been protecting her from them, Lana realized that she wanted to be with Clark, but Lionel stepped in and threatened to kill Clark if Lana stopped the wedding. Lex, meanwhile, responded to blackmail threats from Lana's doctor concerning the truth about her unborn baby by beating the man to a pulp with such severity that the doctor fell, striking his head and dying -- in the basement of the very church where Lex and Lana were about to be wed.
